Olive Leaf Extract Can Help Tackle High Blood Pressure And Cholesterol

Taking 1000mg of a specific olive leaf extract (EFLA943) can buoy lower cholesterol and lour blood atmospheric pressure in patients with meek hypertension (high blood pressure). These findings came from a 'Twins' trial, in which different treatments were given to identical twins. Hypertension is one of the most common and significant disease risk factors imposed by the modern life-style. Many people would thence benefit from finding slipway of reducing blood pressing. Experiments in rats had previously indicated that olive leaf extract could be one path of achieving this end.

To test this in humans, researchers from Switzerland and Germany conducted a pilot trial with 20 identical (monozygotic) twin pairs who had an increased blood pressure. Individuals were either granted placebo capsules or capsules containing doses of 500mg or 1000mg of olive leaf extract EFLA943. Pairs of twins were assigned to different treatments. After the subjects had taken the draw out for octad weeks researchers measured blood pressures as well as collecting data about aspects of life style.

"The study confirmed that olive folio extract EFLA943 has antihypertensive drug properties in humans," says one of the co-authors, Cem Aydogan, General Manager, Frutarom Health.

"This whole kit and boodle showed that taking a 1000mg dosage has substantial effects in people with borderline hypertension," says Aydogan.

MTV: Britney Could Return to VMAs

If Britney Spears is serious about making a comeback, she can prove herself this September at the Video Music Awards.

Despite last year's reviled, head-scratching, lip-synching performance the singer put forth, MTV claims it'll never say "no" to Britney Spears.

''Everyone deserves a second or third chance, right?'' Van Toffler, president of MTV Networks Music Group, says.

Don't get too excited though. Van admits that he was "sorta" kidding about welcoming Brit back with open arms.

"Who knows?" he adds.

Last September, a bikini-adorned, uncoordinated Britney opened the network's marquee award show with a lackluster performance of her new single, "Gimme More."

"She looked lost and confused," a VMA audience member told OK! at the time. "She was definitely not into it. People were shaking their heads and wondering what happened."

If the 26-year-old is invited back, she won't have to travel far to attend the ceremony. After stints in New York, Miami and Las Vegas last year, the VMAs are returning to Los Angeles this year.

Van says producers and crew members are already planning the show, but know they have their work cut out for them.

''I'm not sure how we top Britney opening the show,'' he says. ''We are working on it every minute of every day.''

Britney Spears Fears Early Death

Britney Spears fears she won't live to see her 28th birthday, according to the author of a shocking new expose about the troubled pop star.
Biographer and journalist Ian Halperin spent 18 months studying the Toxic singer as an undercover paparazzo, getting close to the star and her inner circle.
And now he's writing all about his findings in a new book which he hopes to have on shelves by Christmas.
Amid all the claims of drug abuse, bipolar problems and suicidal tendencies, Halperin states Spears told him personally she fears she will die at 27.
The biographer, who ironically penned a book about Kurt Cobain - who lost his life at 27, tells Life & Style magazine, "She told me she feared she'd die at age 27 (her current age), just like other music stars, like Janis Joplin and Kurt Cobain."
Joplin and Cobain aren't the only members of the sinister 27 Club - rock greats Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Brian Jones all perished before their 28th birthday.
Spears turns 28 on 2 December.
